Empowering Migrant Movement in India

Empowering Migrant Movement India (EMMI) is a social work NGO dedicated to empowering migrant labor communities across India’s major industrial cities. EMMI was founded with a mission to uplift and support migrant workers and their families as they navigate the unique challenges of migration. Recognizing the critical role of migrant labor in India’s economic landscape, EMMI strives to provide these individuals with the resources, support systems, and opportunities necessary for a dignified and fulfilling life.

S Rahim Bardhan

Rahim Bardhan, hailing from Odisha, experienced life as a migrant laborer at just 17, giving him firsthand insight into the struggles and hardships faced by millions. Despite facing numerous challenges, he persevered to complete his education, ultimately earning a master’s degree in theology. These experiences ignited a deep passion within him to stand up for migrant workers and address the injustices they endure. As the founder and chief strategist of EMMI, Rahim is committed to empowering migrants, advocating for their rights, and creating opportunities that enable them to lead lives of dignity and purpose.
